Even as Coronavirus deaths surpassed 130,000 in the United States, Donald Trump claimed that deaths from the ‘China virus’ were down by 39 percent.

US President Donald Trump on Monday claimed that deaths from ‘China virus’ were down by 39 percent in country. His remarks came as top experts expressed worry about recent outbreaks in several states. However, American leader called out ‘Fake news’ for t reporting supposed downward spiral of COVID-19 deaths in country. 

Taking to Twitter, Trump alleged that news media were t reporting drop in fatalities. In addition, US President also took opportunity to laud country’s 'great testing program' that 'continues to lead World'.

US Coronavirus deaths pass 130,000

 United States surpassed 130,000 deaths in its battle with COVID-19 pandemic on Monday as new cases surge across country, placing Donald Trump's response to crisis under severe scrutiny. According to Johns Hopkins University tally, a total of 130,007 were reported as of Monday. Nationally, total number of cases is nearing three million, highest tally in world and double infections reported in second-most affected country Brazil.

As per tally provided by Statistica, COVID-19 mortality rate in US stands at 4.84, which is far from better as compared to or nations. While Yemen tops list of Coronavirus death toll globally, United States maintains 15th position with 130,007 COVID-19 deaths.

As a result, Trump's assertion of death rate being down does stand correct, though since he has t provided parameters of how he got to m, y are hard to replicate. However, danger to US currently lies with number of cases rising.
