  • A newspaper cutting is being circulated all over social media stating that BMC i.e. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has appealed to citizens of Mumbai to drink boiled water for 7 days.

  • Republic World did a fact check on BMC's appeal to drinking boiled water for 7 days and found claims to be False. 
  • Take a look at full view of newspaper clipping that is being circulated. newspaper clipping clearly states that BMC has recommended people to drink boiled water for 7 days due to water turbidity issues in regions like Ward L Kurla and Ward N Ghatkopar.

  • However, on a reverse im search, it was found that news dates back to May 2018 when Ghatkopar reservoir tank was being constructed. So news is definitely t recent news and it has connection to COVID-19 prevention as well.
