What is rumour about?
- A viral rumour has been spreing all over country stating that Ministry of Communications and Digital Ecomy has me some new rules.
- Accordingly, government will check all calls and even social media forums would be monitored.
- According to mess, one is supposed to share or post any information regarding politics, religion and government.
- If rules are t followed, person could even be arrested.
- According to mess forward, se new rules are to be followed from April 4, 2020.

- Apparently, mess was being circulated in Assam first before circulating in rest of country.

Republic World did a fact check viral rumour
- Republic World did a fact check on "new communication rules" rumour and found it to be False.
- Ministry whose name is written at bottom of se forwards as "Minister of Communication and Digital Ecomy" doesn't even exist in India.
- However, Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Ecomy actually exists in Nigeria but re is such information of calls getting recorded in Nigeria mentioned in any official statement as well. In 2018, re was news of Nigerian government spying on ir citizens' phone calls, but allegations were refuted by Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture.
