What is rumour about?

  • According to claims me by Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Shrip Naik, a Bengaluru doctor was responsible for curing Prince Charles of coronavirus successfully.
  • Bengaluru doctor h used Ayurvedic and Homeopathy for his treatment according to Naik's statement. Naik n vocated  use of Ayurveda and homoeopathy measures for same.

Who started rumour?

  • In a Press Briefing, which was also reported by PTI, Shri Shrip Naik, who is Union Minister of State for AYUSH & MOS Defence, said that he h received a call from an Ayurveda practitioner who runs an ayurvedic resort named SOUKYA in Bengaluru, and he has claimed that his formula h cured Prince Charles of coronavirus, formula was me by using Ayurveda and Homeopathy practices, (source PTI).

  • Republic World's fact check on Prince Charles Ayurvedic treatment claims found rumours to be False. 
  • Union Minister of State for AYUSH & MOS Defence, Shrip Naik h stated in a press conference on April 2, about how a special formula me of ayurvedic and homoeopathy practices h cured Coronavuirus infection in Prince Charles.
  • However, during his press conference, Shrip Naik h also stated that this is just an example of how Ayurveda and homoeopathy can help treat diseases like coronavirus. He furr said that medicines should be prescribed before scientifically validating and thus y are terming se ayurvedic and homoeopathic measures as preventive medicine as it bears side effects.
  • Reportedly, spokesperson for Prince Charles h denied claims saying that Prince of Wales h followed medical vice given by NHS and thing else. y blatantly denied claims stating that or means were responsible for curing Prince Charles of coronavirus.

  • Clarence House, which is official residence of Prince of Wales, h given out a statement on March 26, stating that Prince Charles h tested positive for coronavirus and he was following self-isolation while being quarantined at home.

  • According to various reports, on asking for a proof from Dr Isaac Mathai (who runs ayurvedic health centre SOUKYA in Bengaluru), Mathai was quoted saying that as Prince Charles was his patient, he couldn’t give any statement regarding same due to doctor-patient confidentiality rule.
