Dr Kirthi Paladugu sets the record straight. “Spine health is often for granted, with many people holding misconceptions about it. These misunderstandings can lead to neglecting one of the most vital parts of the human body,” he asserts. Here are a few common misconceptions he dispels.

“Aches and pain are normal.” Many people believe that occasional back pain is an inevitable part of the ageing process. In reality, persistent pain can be a sign of an underlying issue.

“Lifting heavy objects is the only way to harm your spine.” In reality, poor posture, prolonged sitting and inadequate exercise can be just as damaging. 

“Only elderly individuals need to worry about spine health.” Spinal problems can affect people of all ages, from young adults to seniors.
