1 Dead, Many Trapped After Building Collapses in Mumbai

Portions of the building Rubinissa Manzil has collapsed in Mumbai; one woman has died, three others are injured and several are feared trapped.

Mumbai: Parts of a building Rubinissa Manzil, on the Grant Road in Mumbai have collapsed and one woman has succumbed to her injuries.

Three others are injured and seven to eight people are feared trapped.

Mumbai Building Collapse: 1 Dead, 3 Injured

The incident happened at around 11:00 am today; parts of the MHADA building's balcony and slab on the second and third floors have collapsed partially. Some sections are also hanging precariously. 

Out of the four people injured, a woman was declared dead at the hospital.

Several Feared Trapped, BMC Issues Statement

In a statement, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has said that seven to eight residents are stranded on the fourth floor and rescue operations are underway.

It has been declared as a Level I Emergency by the Mumbai Fire Brigade.

Mumbai Traffic Police Issues Update

Parts of a building on Grant Road in Mumbai have collapsed and several people are feared trapped. The Mumbai Traffic Police has issued an update for those travelling to the area of the accident.

In a post on X, Mumbai Police has said, “Due to part of a building collapse near Grant Road Station West, the station road is closed for vehicular traffic.”
