100 Cyclists Rally 10 Km in Kolkata Demanding Justice For RG Kar Rape-Murder Victim

Demanding justice for the woman doctor who was raped and murdered at RG Kar hospital here in August, 100 cyclists on Sunday paddled for 10 km.

Kolkata: At least 100 cyclists pdled for 10 km in Kolkata to reach RG Kar Medical College and Hospital demanding justice for woman doctor who was raped and murdered at hospital in August this year. cyclists reportedly pdled for 10 km to reach victim's workplace located in Shyambazar area in norrn part of Kolkata. 

According to information, cycle rally was organised by Abhaya Mancha, a forum of protesting medics of West Bengal Junior Doctors Front and civil society members. cycle rally started from Sodepur Traffic More, not far from deceased post-gruate trainee doctor's residence in North 24 Parganas district to hospital.

Cyclists traversed different points like Belghaia, Rathtala, Dunlop and Sinthir More to reach Shyambazar five-point crossing about 200 metres away from R G Kar Medical College and Hospital.

Each cyclist carried one torch during procession. cycle rally was organised after passing of 100 days from August 9, day crime was committed.

After reaching Shyambazar area, y handed over 100 torches to representatives from districts, who would, in turn, carry same to ir respective areas, a spokesperson of WBJDF said.

y also stood on ro at five-point crossing for 100 seconds, demanding speedy trial of case, arrest of all those involved in crime, and paid tribute to deceased doctor.

"We will not withdraw movement till we get justice. Orwise, soul of our sister will not be at peace. flame of protests will keep burning till we reach goal," a protester said.
