13-Year-Old Girl Takes Her Life After Family Couldn’t Afford Lehenga for Chhath Puja in UP's Ballia

Ballia (UP): A 13-year-old girl allegedly takes her life by hanging herself in a vill in Sukhpura Police Station area of Ballia district because her family did t get a lehenga me for her for Chhath puja, police said on Saturday.

As per police information, body of Neelam (13) was found hanging in house in Bhaluhi vill in Sukhpura police station area.

SHO Yogendra Singh said police reached spot as soon as information about incident was received on Friday and sent body of deceased for post-mortem examination.

Neelam h been insisting to her mor to make a lehenga for her for many days, he ded.

SHO said family could t get lehenga me due to financial crisis due to which Neelam committed suicide and ded furr legal action is being taken in case.
