1,303 Indian Sikh Pilgrims depart for Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan
1,303 Indian Sikh pilgrims on Tuesday left for Kartarpur Sahib via the Attari border in Punjab. PM Modi will inaugurate the Kartarpur corridor on November 9

With inauguration day for Kartarpur Sahib corridor coming close, 1,303 Indian Sikh Pilgrims departed for Pakistan via Attari border to celebrate in 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), body that mans Sikh shrines in India, is organising pilgrim that will conclude on vember 14. Over a 1000 devotees will visit various Sikh shrines, like Nankana Sahib Gurudwara ( birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev) in Punjab province — Panja Sahib in Hasanabdal city and Kartarpur Sahib.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Kartarpur corridor on vember 9, post which pilgrims from India will be able to visit corridor on occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's 550th Prakash Purab celebrations on vember 12.

PM Modi on Guru Nanak Dev Ji's 550th Prakash Purab
During his 58th 'Mann Ki Baat' rio dress, Prime Minister also briefly spoke about 550th Prakash Purab celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, which will be celebrated across world on vember 12. PM Modi stated significance of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's teachings.PM Modi said, "vember 12 is day, when, whole world will celebrate 550th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Today t only India but whole world is witnessing impact of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. re are many Sikh brors and sisters across world who are completely dedicated to teachings and beliefs of Guru Nanak."
While talking furr about Guru Nanak Dev Ji's dedication towards 'service', Prime Minister said, "He always kept service above everything else. Guru Nanak dev Ji believed that re is service in world which is greater than selfless service. During his days, he even stood firmly against social evils like untouchability."

About Kartarpur corridor
Both India and Pakistan after tough negotiations h signed a landmark agreement over Kartarpur Corridor that would allow Indian Sikh pilgrims to visit holy Darbar Sahib in Pakistan. Both countries mutually decided that 5,000 pilgrims can visit shrine daily and more pilgrims will be allowed to visit on special occasions, subject to capacity expansion of facilities by Pakistani side. Pakistan h earlier declared that Sikh pilgrims from India would only need a valid ID and passport to travel to Kartarpur. 10 day vance registration will be required to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib. Pakistani PM h also declared that pilgrims who arrive on day of Kartarpur corridor's opening on vember 9 and 550th birth anniversary of Sikh Guru on vember 12 would t be charged a fee of USD 20 to visit holy shrine.
