16 Interceptor Vehicles Launched In Tripura To Boost Road Safety Initiative

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha flagged off 16 vehicles to improve the state’s transportation facilities during a road safety program organized by the state transport department in Agartala.
Of the 16 vehicles, 8 have been allocated to the police and traffic departments, while the remaining 8 have been assigned to the transport department.

"The road safety programme should have been organised earlier but then there was a flood so this programme was done today. Out of the 16 vehicles 8 interceptor vehicles have been given to police and traffic and 8 vehicles have been given to the transport office, this has been done with a view to develop infrastructure," CM Saha said.
The Chief Minister also highlighted that the department has established a new driving school. "A driving school has been opened here, where training is provided and certificates are issued to women," CM Saha stated. He further noted, "With the increase in vehicles in Tripura, our goal is to reduce accidents by at least 10%. We are actively working towards that objective."
