17 BSF personnel among 49 fresh COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya

Forty-seven fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in East Khasi Hills district and two in rth Garo Hills district, Health Services Director Aman War said.

"Seventeen BSF personnel are among new patients," he said.
Nine more people have been cured of disease and were discharged from hospitals, taking total number of recoveries to 694, official said, ding six patients have died in state so far.

fresh infections have pushed number of active cases in state to 806, he said.
East Khasi Hills district has highest number of active COVID-19 cases at 492, followed by 189 in West Garo Hills and 95 in Ri-Bhoi, official said.

East Garo Hills district is coronavirus-free at moment, War said.
"Of 492 active COVID-19 cases in East Khasi Hills district, 174 are security personnel," he said.

A total of 43,870 samples have been tested for COVID- 19 in state so far, War ded.
