17-Year-Old IIT JEE Aspirant Commits Suicide In Lucknow, Takes Fatal Jump From Eighth Floor

In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old IIT-JEE aspirant died after jumping off the eighth floor of a high-rise in Lucknow on Saturday.

Lucknow: In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old IIT -JEE aspirant died after jumping off the eighth floor of a high-rise in Lucknow on Saturday. 

The deceased has been identified as Aditya. 

"At around 7.30 am, the security guard of Commerce House informed the Hazratganj police station that a youth had jumped off the building. The police immediately reached the spot and shifted the youth to the civil hospital where the doctors declared him dead," police said. 

Aspirant Jumped From Eighth Floor of High Rise Building 

Officials said that CCTV footage from the building is being scanned and the body has been sent for post-mortem.

As per preliminary information, the youth climbed up to the eighth floor of Commerce House using the stairs meant for emergency service and jumped off from there.

"The family members of the deceased have been contacted using the victim's cellphone found in a bag which he left behind," the statement said. 

In a similar incident, a NEET aspirant hailing from Uttar Pradesh's Mathura committed suicide in coaching hub Kota in Rajasthan

The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Parshuram son Khacharmal, resident of Manpur Barsana in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh.

The incident happened within the jurisdiction of the Jawahar Nagar police station in Kota, where the deceased was residing in a rented apartment while attending coaching classes for the NEET medical entrance exam. The student had only arrived in Kota a week prior to prepare for the exam.
