2 Tibetans march from Manali to Delhi against China; 'return Panchem Lama' among 3 demands

Two Tibetan nationals have pedal marched from Manali in Himachal Pradesh to China’s embassy at New Delhi with three specific demands from the Chinese Government

Two Tibetan nationals have pedal-marched from Manali in Himachal Presh to China’s embassy at New Delhi with three specific demands from Chinese Government. Holding flags of Tibet and India, duo started marching from Manali in wee hours of Wednesday, September 23 and expect to reach capital city by October 22 on foot.

  1. Chinese Communist Party should allow His Holiness 14th Dalai Lama return to Tibet
  2. CCP should hold peaceful dialogue with Dalai Lama or Central Tibetan ministration through middle ground approach
  3. Chinese authority should unconditionally release 11th Panchen Lama along with all Tibetan prisoners.

With se three demands, two Tibetan nationals undertook a march from Himachal Presh to Delhi against Chinese government.

Anti-China protests among Tibetan community around world have gained momentum over last few months with demonstrations being std in several parts of India, Hong Kong United States as well as Cana. Citizens across se countries have come out in support of Tibetans opposing China’s oppressive rule over Tibet for deces.

China attempts to bring 'stabillity' in Tibet

Last month, Chinese President Xi Jinping told senior lawmakers that Beijing must build an “impregnable fortress” to maintain stability in Tibet. state media also said that Xi talked about protection of national unity and educating public in struggle against “spiritism”.

Describing move as “peaceful liberation” that benefited people in secluded Himalayan region to abandon “feudalist” past, China has seized control over Tibet in 1950. However, critics of Asian superpower’s policies regarding region and supporters of exiled spiritual leer Dalai Lama have voiced ir concerns with Chinese rule amounting to “cultural gecide”.

According to international media reports, it was during a senior Communist Party meeting on Tibet’s future governance ending, Chinese President hailed recent developments me and even appreciated efforts me by officials handling issue on frontlines. However, Xi reportedly ded that more efforts were required to instil strength & rejuvenating unity in region. 

Chinese state media also quoted Xi saying that political and ideological education is required to be strengned in schools in Tibet that can furr ‘plant seeds of loving China’ in depths of hearts of every youth. Chinese President also vowed to build a ‘united, prosperous, civilised, harmonious and beautiful new, modern, socialist Tibet’. He also ted that China is required to enhance role of Communist Party in region along with better integrating of ethnic groups.

Recent reports have also cited China building heavy fortifications and internment camps in Tibet.
