21 TGSP Officers Arrested, 10 Dismissed Amid Protests For Uniform Policies

10 Telangana Special Police (TGSP) personnel were dismissed and 21 were arrested for their alleged involvement in the recent protests seeking uniform policies.

Hyderab: Ten Telangana Special Police (TGSP) personnel were dismissed from service and 21 were arrested on Monday for ir alleged involvement in recent protests seeking uniform policies for all police personnel.

10 personnel, despite repeated warnings and opportunities to refrain from disruptive behaviour, engd in actions that severely undermined Battalion discipline and tarnished im of force, a police release said.

"Consequently, ir dismissal has been ordered under Article 311(2)(b) of Constitution of India, under circumstances that compromise public interest," it said.

While some personnel of TGSP have been involved in protests, ir family members have also participated in dharnas during last several days demanding uniform policies and better working conditions.

Telangana Police h earlier suspended 37 TGSP personnel for alleged misconduct and incitement of agitations.

A separate police release said cases were registered against 21 TGSP personnel who participated in an "unauthorised" protest here on Monday in direct defiance of Section 163 BNSS orders issued by Hyderab police.

orders prohibited garings, rallies and public demonstrations within city limits to avert potential disturbances, it said, ding that 21 personnel have also been arrested.

In dition to criminal cases, show cause tices are being issued to 21 personnel for ir gross violation of conduct rules and insubordination, specifically under Article 311 (2) (b) of Constitution, as ir actions pose a significant threat to public interest and security, release stated.

Against backdrop of protests, TGSP personnel deployed at Secretariat were on Monday told t to participate in any demonstrations or eng in social media activity which hurts discipline of force, sources said.
