25 Bangladeshi nationals lodged in Dhubri district jail released

Twenty-five Bangladeshi nationals, who were lodged in Assam's Dhubri district jail, were released and sent back to their country on Wednesday, an official said.

Bangleshis were sent back through Chengrabandha checkpost in West Bengal's Cooch Behar district, a senior official of Dhubri district ministration said.

Bilasipara Sub Division Court of Dhubri district h passed an order regarding release of 25 Bangleshis on Saturday.

development came following a request from Banglesh responding to which police decided to withdraw case against m and subsequently court dropped charges and ordered ir release, official said.

Twenty-six men, including a person who died on July 1, h entered India on tourist visas but worked as fishermen in Jorhat and Sivsagar districts in state.

Meanwhile, 57-year old Bokul Mia, died on July 1 at Dhubri Civil Hospital where he was mitted after he h complained of uneasiness.

Bokul Mia's body was handed over to his family members in neighbouring country, official said.
