3 Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists arrested in Kishtwar: Jammu IG
Three Hizbul Mujahideen militants were arrested on Monday, September 23, Inspector-General of Police (Jammu Zone) Mukesh Singh announced the news of the arrest.

Three Hizbul Mujahideen militants were arrested on Monday, September 23, Inspector-General of Police (Jammu Zone) Mukesh Singh announced the news of the arrest. The terrorists were arrested in connection with four terrorist-related incidents in the past year in the Kishtwar district of the Jammu region in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The four cases in which the police have made arrests are--the killing of BJP leader Anil Parihar, killing of RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma and his personal security officer and two-weapon snatching incidents. The terrorists have been identified as Nissar Ahmed Sheikh, Nishad Ahmed and Azad Hussain have been arrested in connection with the four cases. Addressing a press conference on September 23, Inspector-General Singh stated: "We have been able to solve these cases with help of CRPF, Indian Army and NIA. Three have been arrested in the killing of Chandrakant Sharma. Among those arrested, one is Nisar Ahmad Sheikh who was also present during killing of Anil Parihar.”
Hizbul Mujahideen trying to revive militancy in Chenab valley
Singh revealed that the incidents were linked to an effort by terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen to revive militancy in Chenab valley.
"It all goes back to an initial conspiracy during the years 2017 and 18. It was decided to revive militancy in Chenab valley and one of oldest commanders of Hizbul mujahideen, Jahangir Saroori played a part. In furtherance of this plan, they planned to kill Anil Parihar," Singh said.
Singh further said that militants named Osama, a Doda-based militant Harun, Zahid and Nisar Ahmed shaikh along with Saroori were involved in Parihar's killing. Singh added that "in this whole conspiracy, Nissar Ahmed Shaikh also took help of Nishad Ahmed and Azad Hussain, who also has been arrested." Singh further stated that the police are trying to nab an over-ground worker identified as Rustom who aided the terrorists by creating a hideout for Nishad Ahmed and Azad Hussain."Today, I would like to send a message -- anyone harbouring, sympathising, transporting or helping terrorists in any form will be dealt with very strictly under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act," Singh said.
Doval: Pak trying its best to disrupt peace in J&K
National Security Agency's Ajit Doval had previously stated that Pakistan was trying its best to disrupt peace in J&K. He added that the political leaders in the region were detained to maintain to avoid any law and order issue from happening. He also said that Pakistan-backed terror outfits could use the situation to create violence in J&K
PM Modi calls for 'decisive battle' against terrorism:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 'Howdy, Modi!' event in Houston, Texas had hit out at Pakistan for its support to terrorism and said India's decision to nullify Article 370 has caused trouble to those who cannot handle their country as he called for a "decisive battle" against terrorism. Making a strong pitch against terrorism at the 'Howdy, Modi' event in the presence of US President Donald Trump, who joined the mega event in a rare gesture of friendship, Modi asked the 50,000-strong crowd of Indian-Americans to give Trump a standing ovation, as he targeted Pakistan and its Prime Minister Imran Khan, without directly naming them.
