A 35-year-old woman in Lucknow consumed poison after she was harassed by goons over a property dispute, police said on Saturday.
Lucknow: A 35-year-old woman in Lucknow consumed poison after she was harassed by goons over a property dispute, police said on Saturday.
"A 35-year-old woman from Firozabad consumed a poisonous substance after being troubled by some goons over illegal property possession," police official said.
The ADCP Manisha Singh said that the woman hailing from Firozabad reached Lucknow by bus at 7:30 am and then was on her way to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's residence to brief him about her situation.
Police said that the woman claimed about goons occupying her land. Woman alleged that goons were threatening to kill her son.

"The woman who arrived near the Chief Minister's residence after consuming intoxicants sat down on the road feeling dizzy, following which a police official took notice of her and asked her the matter," the official said.
Woman was later hospitalized and was admitted to a civil hospital.
“During the investigation that her son was being threatened,” police said while adding that an investigation is underway, and further details into the matter are awaited.
Earlier, a man was shot dead on Sunday night over a suspected dispute regarding a property in Noida's Sector 142 area, police said. Sector 142 police station in-charge inspector Pushpraj Singh said Navendra Jha was shot at near Sector 137 metro station around 7 pm. He was admitted to Felix Hospital, where he died during treatment.The body has been sent for post-mortem.
