In an attempt to curb vel Coronavirus spread, 4 people with 'Home Quarantine Stamp' on ir hands were deboarded from Garib Rath train in Palghar. Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway informed that individuals with stamp had flown in from Germany and were suspected to have COVID-19. He added that passengers were heading to Surat but were deboarded as y were defying protocol. Earlier on Tuesday, Maharashtra government had instructed authorities to stamp people who have been placed under 'home quarantine' for suspected exposure to COVID-19. 

Amidst rising number of cases, Western Railways on Tuesday canceled 35 trips of 10 trains. Maharashtra government also shut down schools, colleges, gyms, social centers and aters in an attempt to avoid mass garings. Maharashtra has been worst-hit state with 38 COVID-19 positive cases being reported so far whereas total number of cases in India has reached 151.

state government on Tuesday stated that stamping people under home quarantine will help identify m easily in public. Highlighting it as a 'precautionary measure,' Greater Mumbai's Municipal Commissioner Pravin Pardeshi issued an order to all officials at hospitals and airports directing m to 'stamp' behind left palm of suspected individual. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also appealed citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and suspected individuals to remain under home quarantine.

Maha CM declares 'Coronavirus epidemic'

Maharashtra government on Friday invoked Epidemic Diseases Act declaring Coronavirus as an epidemic, as anunced by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Informing State Assembly of number of positive cases detected at that time, he declared all schools to be shut in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad till furr tice barring where 10th and 12th standard board exams are being conducted.

Furrmore, gyms, swimming pools and atres in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Nagpur, Pimpri-Chinchwad have been shut till March 30. Subsequent to that, state government has tified that offices mustn't work with over 50% attendance at any given time, in order to furr 'social distancing'.
