4 Women Dead, Several Injured After Soil Mound Collapses in UP's Kasganj

Kasganj: Four women died while several ors were injured in Uttar Presh's Kasganj district after a large mound of soil collapsed on Tuesday.

As per officials, women h gone to collect mud to plaster ir houses in Mohanpura vill when a pile of soil suddenly collapsed and many women got buried in it.

Kasganj District Magistrate Medha Roopam said that a total of nine women have been brought out, out of whom four were declared de.

“Nine women have been brought out, four of m were declared de at district hospital. Ors are injured. rescue operation was conducted very well here. We have checked entire area with help of JCB and excavator. re is very little chance of anyone else being trapped re. NHAI's work was underway here.”

"We will take action against whoever was negligent. It is being said that women h come to get soil for ir houses. We will speak with women," she ded.

Uttar Presh Chief Minister Yogi ityanath also took cognizance of tragic incident. He has directed district ministration officials to immediately take injured to hospital and ensure proper treatment for m.

Chief Minister also expressed condolences to bereaved families of deceased and wished for speedy recovery of injured.

He has also instructed district ministration officials to reach site and expedite relief efforts.
