54 Maharashtra police personnel awarded President medals

Fifty-four Maharashtra police personnel have been awarded President's Police Medals, including ten who have been bestowed with the coveted President's Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG), on the eve of Republic Day, an official said.
Additional Superintendent of Police MCV Maheshwar Reddy, Deputy Superintendent of Police Samarsinh Salve have got the PPMG for fighting Naxals in Gadchiroli, he said.
Others who have got the PPMG are Sub Inspector Mithu Jagdale, constables Surpat Wadde, Ashish Halami, Vinod Raut, Nandkumar Agre, Avinash Kamble, Vasant Atram and Hamit Dongre. Additional Director General of Police (SRPF) Archana Tyagi, ADG (Training) Sanjay Saxena, ACP Worli Shashank Sandbhor and ASI Vasant Sable, posted in Koregaon in Satara, have been awarded the President's Medal for Distinguished Service, he said.
SP and Coordinator, Counter Terrorism, Interpol in Singapore, Dhananjay Kulkarni, Additional Police Commissioner Atul Patil and Deputy Commissioner Nandkumar Thakur have been the awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. ACP Nandkishore More, ACP Steven Anthony and Senior Inspector Mukund Pawar are among the 40 personnel who were awarded for meritorious service, the official said.
