7-Year-Old Undergoes Surgery, Greater Noida Doctor Operates on Wrong Eye

Noida: A seven-year-old boy in Greater Noida was operated on in wrong eye, sparking outrage and allegations of negligence against hospital. Yudhishthir, who h visited Anand Spectrum Hospital in Sector Gamma 1 on November 12 with his far, Nitin Bhati, h initially sought medical attention for persistent watering in his left eye.
According to Bhati, doctor diagnosed a foreign object in boy’s left eye and recommended surgery under anessia, charging Rs 45,000 for procedure. "I took my son Yudhishthir to same hospital a week ago, where y told me he has an allergy," Bhati said. "However, when irritation was not reduced even after a week, y said he needed anaessia and an operation. Later, doctor said that operation, which cost Rs 45,000, was successful, and y said a fine metal-like thing was removed from eye, whose photo was shown on a mobile phone."

However, upon returning home, Bhati’s wife noticed that surgery h been performed on Yudhishthir’s right eye inste of left, eye that h been causing issue. Disturbed by oversight, family consulted anor eye hospital, where y were informed that no surgery h been performed on affected eye.
Feeling deceived, Bhati accused hospital of conducting a “fake” surgery. When he confronted Dr. Anand Verma, he claimed doctor and his staff misbehaved. Bhati has lodged a complaint with Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Gautam Buddha Nagar, calling for revocation of doctor’s license and sealing of hospital.

police confirmed that an investigation is underway, assuring that “proper action will be taken soon.”
