70-Year-Old Shopkeeper Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Minor Dalit Girl in Sitapur

A 70-year-old shopkeeper, Mohhamad Anwar, was arrested in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, after a disturbing video surfaced online, allegedly showing him sexually assaulting a minor Dalit girl. The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday when the young girl visited Anwar's shop in a village in the district. 

The girl's mother promptly filed a complaint with the police, leading to Anwar's arrest. He has been charged under multiple legal provisions, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). 

Additional Superintendent of police Sitapur, Prakash Kumar, confirmed the arrest and stated that a thorough investigation is underway to ensure justice for the victim.
