A Shiv Sena man and two others have been booked under Section 500 and 501 of the IPC for putting up a defamatory poster against the Bharatiya Janata Party

An offence has been registered against three persons, including a local Shiv Sena activist, for allegedly putting up a poster defaming BJP, police said here on Wednesday. controversial poster, carrying photos of BJP leers, stated that party has been ousted from Maharashtra's Palghar district, an official said.
An offence was registered against Sena activist Prabhakar Raul and two ors on Tuesday, he ded. hoarding carried pictures of BJP rebel Santosh Janate, who contested polls as an independent and lost, and Paskal Janya Dhanare, sitting MLA who lost his seat in this election, an official said.

Offence registered under Section 500 and 501 of IPC
poster also carried names of some right-wing organisations, he said, ding that party's logo and Janate's election symbol, a cup and saucer, was printed upside down. An offence under sections 500 and 501 (defamation) of Indian Penal Code has been registered with Boisar police station and hoarding has been taken down, police public relations officer Hemant Katkar said. BJP lost both Vikramgh and Dahanu seats in Palghar district, where Sena candidates won in recently concluded Assembly elections.
