AAI extends screening of passengers coming in from China to Chennai airport
Following the outbreak of the coronavirus in the Chinese city of Wuhan, Airport Authority of India (AAI) has extended passenger screening to Chennai Airport

Following mysterious outbreak of coronavirus in Chinese city of Wuhan, Airport Authority of India (AAI) has me all necessary arrangements at Chennai airport to screen passengers that are coming from country.
Since vel disease was first reported in Wuhan earlier this month, it has slowly spre across country and as per reports, cases have also been reported in several Asian cities or than China, including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. Chennai airport has been provided with logistics support with regards to screening of passengers as per instructions by Airport Health Organisation (APHO).

Ministry of Civil Aviation raises precautions
Amid outbreak of coronavirus disease, Ministry of Civil Aviation h earlier stated that it will be extending screening of passengers visiting from China to four more airports - Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderab, and Cochin.

Ministry h earlier asked for a screening test at Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata airports. measure has been taken as a precautionary step given recent outbreak of SARS-like virus in China. w screening has been extended to Chennai airport as well.
Even airlines flying in from any airport in China, have been asked to make in-flight anuncements about self-declaration by any passenger with a history of fever and cough so that he can be quarantined upon arrival.

On Wednesday, Emergency Committee of World Health Organisation (WHO) held a discussion over emergent outbreak of coronavirus in Wuhan. WHO committee has postponed making a decision on wher to declare a global state of emergency regarding disease or t.
