AAP leaders observed 'Dhoka Diwas' across the national capital as they held protests against the BJP's "false promise" of regularising unauthorised colonies.

AAP leers observed 'Dhoka Diwas' across national capital on Saturday as y held protests against BJP's "false promise" of regularising unauthorised colonies.

Terming promise of regularising unauthorised colonies an "election gimmick", party leers visited unauthorised colonies in national capital and talked to residents.

"Today on Dhoka Divas we are reaching out to people of unauthorised colonies and exposing BJP's lies. We do t want residents of unauthorised colonies to be cheated again by BJP," Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said.

He led protest at Sangam Vihar and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh led protest at Burari. Cabinet Minister and AAP Delhi conver Gopal Rai led protest at Bawana.

While senior leer Pankaj Gupta led protest at Janak Puri, party leer Dilip Pandey led agitation at Mohan Garden, Vikaspuri. Saurabh Bharwaj, senior party leer and MLA from Greater Kailash led Dhokha Diwas protest at Deoli.

Rai claimed that BJP was following footsteps of Congress.

"Earlier, Congress cheated residents of unauthorised colonies by distributing provisional certificates in name of registration. w BJP is doing same kind of fraud by initiating an online registration process. If BJP is really willing to regularise unauthorised colonies n y should immediately start proper registration process and stop this gimmick of online registration," said Rai.

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said it is unfortunate that leers of BJP are lying to residents of unauthorised colonies.

"This is t first time parties are cheating people of unauthorised colonies. Congress under Shiela Dikshit used to reach out to residents of such colonies right before elections, and would assure m that registration process will be done by distributing provisional certificates but after election y never followed up on ir promises," he claimed.

" BJP has also done same. In reality thing has happened on ground. BJP is t clear wher y will finish registration process before December or t," he said.

Bharwaj said it is high time that BJP's fraud is exposed.

"We have told residents of unauthorised colonies that AAP will stand with m shoulder to shoulder in ir struggle and it will t allow BJP to continue with this fraud," he said.

In October, Union Cabinet approved a proposal to grant ownership rights to people living in unauthorised colonies in Delhi.

Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said Centre would also bring a bill in Winter Session of Parliament to give relief to residents of unauthorised colonies in national capital.
