'Your Daughter is Sick': Abhaya's Mother Recounts First Call from RG Kar Hospital

Kolkata: In an interaction with media, Abhaya's mor has recounted first call she h got from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital after her daughter's gruesome rape and murder.

She said that in first call, she was told that her daughter was sick and n in second call, she was told that Abhaya h ‘committed suicide’.

While speaking to news ncy ANI, Abhaya's mor recounted first call that she h got from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital after her daughter was brutally raped and murdered in hospital's seminar room. 

She said that in first call, she was told that her daughter is sick while in second call, authorities said she h committed suicide.

In her words, “First we got a call from hospital that your daughter is sick, n call was disconnected. After that when I called and asked what happened, y told me to come to hospital.”

She furr said, “When we called again, (caller) identified himself as Assistant Super and said your daughter has committed suicide. She went to duty on Thursday, we got this call on Friday at 10:53am.”

‘We Worked So Hard to Make Our Daughter a Doctor but She was Murdered’

Abhaya's mor also said, “Her pants were open, re was only one piece of cloth on her body. Her hand was broken, blood was coming out of her eyes, mouth. Just by looking at her, it seemed that someone h murdered her."

She also said, "I told m it is t suicide, it's a murder. We worked so hard to make our daughter a doctor but she was murdered.”

“She (Mamata Banerjee) said that culprit will be arrested as soon as possible, but thing has happened so far. One person has been arrested. I am sure many more are involved in this incident. I think entire department is responsible for incident... police did t do a good job at all. I feel that Chief Minister is trying to stop protest, today she imposed Section 144 here so that people cant protest.”
