'My Daughter Worked and Died There...': Abhaya's Parents to Join RG Kar Protest Before SC Hearing

Kolkata: In the wake of the shocking rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, amid the widespread outrage and protests across the country, the parents of the victim are set to join the protest on Wednesday at the medical college to seek justice. 

The parents of the 31-year-old victim, who was tragically raped and killed, plan to join the ongoing protests at the site of protest at  state-run medical facility on Wednesday, a day before the Supreme Court hearing.

While speaking to republic, the parents of the victim have expressed their desire to stand with the protesting doctors who are advocating for justice.

The reporter of R Bangla asked the parents that is they will be joining the protesting doctors at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. 

Answering to the questions, the victim's father confirmed that they will participate in the protest, he stated further that, “Yes, family members will be going to the protest. We plan to be at RG Kar.”

The victim's mother added, “The exact timing of our visit hasn’t been decided yet, but we will go to RG Kar, it is the place where my daughter worked and where she met her tragic end"

"We want to support the protesting doctors at that location.” she stated further. 

At 9 pm on Wednesday, the victim's parents will light candles at the protest site at RG Kar Hospital as a tribute to their daughter and a symbol of their demand for justice, according to the sources.
