After being sacked as the CBI Chief, Here is Alok Verma’s new appointment order

1. Alok Verma is transferred from the post of Director, CBI and posted as Director General, Fire Services, Civil Defense and Home Guards for the residual period of his present term ending on 31.01.2019
2. As per the earlier arrangement, Nageshwar Rao, Additional Director, CBI will look after the duties of the Director, CBI till the appointment of a new Director CBI, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The selection committee headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met for the second time on Thursday, January 10 to decide the fate of CBI Director Alok Verma who was reinstated by a Supreme Court order after he was sent on forced leave by the government.
The meeting went on for two hours earlier on Thursday. Two members, PM Narendra Modi and Justice Sikri, from the CVC, were for removing Verma from the panel. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge gave the dissenting note in the panel.

The allegation against Alok Verma based on the CVC report:
- He received kickbacks of Rs 2 crores
- He went slow on the probe in the IRCTC case against RJD chief Lalu Yadav and did not conduct raids at his residence
- Allegations over the functioning and discharge of his duties as the CBI boss
