After busting ISIS-like terror module, NIA follows up with fresh raids in UP and Punjab; Two detained

Less than a month after busting a terror module of ISIS from Uttar Presh, in which 10 people were detained, National Investigation ncy (NIA) detained two more people as y conducted fresh set of raids in western UP and Punjab.
investigative ncy conducted searches in seven places in two states in connection to arrests me on December 26, 2018. y detained two individuals from Hapur in Uttar Presh.

One of those detained by ncy was Mftu Saquib Iftekar. During his interrogation, he mitted visiting Rajouri, Tral and Bandipore in J&K in May and August, 2018 for training. Furr, he also revealed meetig a local contact and discussing about training and weapon procurement. He worked as an imam in Jama Masjid, Baksar and was arrested for procuring weapons.
This is second massive operation by ncy in past month. Just before start of 2019, a massive search operation in UP and Delhi resulted in busting of an ISIS-like terror module.

In previous operation, NIA confirmed that detainees were planning to destabilize India through a series of terror attacks in country. ncy h revealed that conspirators were in ir final st of planning before y were taken into custody. following items were seized from m:

- Large quantity of weapons
- Explosive materials
- A country-me rocket launcher
- Rs 7.5 lakh
- 100+ mobile phones
- 135 sim cards
- Laptops and memory cards
- 120 alarm clocks and batteries (to make detonators)
- Along with that, 25 kilos of explosive chemicals were also found including potassium nitrate, potassium chlorate, sugar paste, sulphur and
- bomb-making tutorials
It was also found out that detainees h target to attack crowded places and prominent personalities. A video was also found, in which one of detainees could be seen showing how to make a bomb.

Following those arrests, NIA h me it clear that it would continue its investigations into this matter, and h promised more search operations and raids in ir efforts to take down ISIS terror module.
