Chandrayaan 2 - India's Moon Mission is just the beginning of ISRO's long list of inter-planetary missions and other space plans. Achieving its feat, as the moon mission entered the lunar orbit on Tuesday, reports came in that ISRO has planned 36 launches in two years time. ISRO has also planned an ambitious The Sun and Mars mission. For Chandrayaan 2, the country is waiting for September 7 when the moon mission soft lands on Moon's south pole.

Taking the country further in the space exploration, ISRO will send 19 Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), five Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mk-II (GSLV Mk II), seven GSLV Mk III and five small rockets.

After Chandrayaan, ISRO planning India's Sun Mission

Aiming to the biggest star of our solar system - the Sun, ISRO's first mission to sun od Aditya L1. according to ISRO's official website, Aditya L1 will be launched during 2019 – 2020 timeframe by PSLV-XL from its base at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The sun mission will study the outer layers of the sun that extends up to photosphere - known as the corona. "How the corona gets heated to such high temperatures is still an unanswered question in solar physics," stated ISRO's website. This will be the main point of study for the mission. ISRO has also released detail of payloads and their functions for the sun mission Aditya L1.

After Chandrayaan, ISRO planning India's Mars Mission 

After Mangalyaan 1, ISRO is ready to send a second interplanetary mission to Mars in 2024. After the successful insertion of MRas orbiter into Martian orbit in 2014, ISRO had announced about the second Mars mission. As per reports the launch vehicle will be GSLV Mk III. There is also a plan to launch a mission to venus in 2023. Additionally, another mission to the moon will explore rock samples after Chandrayaan 2.

Chandrayaan to Gaganyaan - ISRO's space planning

In a press conference on June 13, ISRO chief K Sivan said that India is planning to have own space station. "This will be India's own space station, different from that of the international space station," ISRO chief K Sivan said Thursday.

K Sivan had then said that India will send its first manned space mission in 2022 - when India completes 75th year of Independence. He made the big announcement that India is planning to have its own space station. The ambitious project will be an extension of the Gaganyaan mission by the ISRO. "We have to sustain the Gaganyaan programme after the launch of (the) human space mission. In this context, India is planning to have its own space station," Sivan told reporters.
