After Ladakh, 3.2 magnitude Earthquake strikes West Garo Hills of Meghalaya

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the 3.2 magnitude earthquake was located at West Garo Hills in Meghalaya.

Meghalaya: After an earthquake struck Lakh, on December 19, norast region too received jolts a few hours later. According to National Center for Seismology (NCS), epicenter was located at West Garo Hills in Meghalaya where earthquake struck with a magnitude of 3.2 on Richter Scale.

NCS said that earthquake occurred around 1:14 pm today at a depth of 10 km. It said that epicenter was precisely located at latitude 25.72 and longitude 90.21.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:3.2, Occurred on 19-12-2023, 13:14:14 IST, Lat: 25.72 & Long: 90.21, Depth: 10 km, Region: West Garo Hills, Meghalaya," NCS posted on X. No reports of casualties or damage to properties have been reported so far. 

Earlier in day, an earthquake of magnitude 3.4 on Richter Scale hit Zanskar region in Lakh's Kargil district. NCS data revealed that earthquake occurred around 10:31 a.m. at a depth of 10 kilometres, and epicenter was found to be at Latitude 33.33 and Longitude 76.85.
