After stunning win in Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina references BJP's rise to power to give her opposition hope

Sheikh Hasina spared a moment to analyse her opposition's performance in the recent election, backing them to do better in future using the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) reference

Soon after she was confirmed a third term as Prime Minister, following her party's massive victory in recently concluded elections, Sheikh Hasina spared a moment to analyse opposition's performance, backing m to do better in future using  Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) reference.

Speaking to media after Banglesh Awami League-led coalition won 288 out of 300 seats, longest serving PM of country gave her opposition confidence and hope by citing BJP's performance over years in India.

"How many seats did y (opposition) get in last election? y could t focus on who would be ir PM. Such an old and established party, but who will be leer of party? It was t clear. So people didn't vote for m. Do you remember BJP h just two seats when Rajiv Gandhi won election? w, y are in power. So re’s a chance for or parties as well if y work properly,” she told media at her residence.

In aftermath of her landslide victory, a number of political leers from India, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, congratulated Sheikh Hasina. PM Modi on Monday took to Twitter, wherein he reiterated his desire to have a strong relationship with Banglesh.

"I spoke to Sheikh Hasinaji and congratulated her on resounding victory in Banglesh elections. I wished her very best for tenure ahe. I have reiterated India's continued commitment to work toger for development of Banglesh and furr strengning of our bilateral relations" he tweeted.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee also extended her wishes to Sheikh Hasina.
