In a bizarre incident, curious bees latched themselves on Air India flight's cockpit in Agartala bound flight to Kolkata, delay the flight for around an hour

In a bizarre incident, an Air India (AI) flight bound to Agartala in Tripura was delayed for around an hour after a swarm of bees engulfed airfield site and entered plane's cockpit at Kolkata airport, reported ANI. incident took place on September 16, when flight, carrying over 100 passengers, was taxiing on runway due to technical issues, an airport official said.

' incident happened yesterday at Kolkata airport when flight was taxiing on runway due to technical issues. Later, bees entered in cockpit and airfield site and it was a challenging task for AI engineers to rectify and attend to aircraft's glitches' , official said.

plane was scheduled to depart at 9:40 am when a confused swarm of bees landed on window just before plane was about to take off. plane was carrying 136 passengers, including 18 members’ of Bangleshi delegation. Bangleshi delegation included Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and rewned actress Rokeya Prachi. y were on ir way to Tripura capital to attend a three-day film festival being organized by Banglesh government.

swarm of bees, after landing on cockpit window, me sure that plane couldn't proceed on its scheduled time, refusing to budge when ground staff attempted to shoo m away. bees, angered at being disturbed from ir resting place at cockpit, started attacking ground staff.

Water sprinkled to get bees off  plane

Eventually, next plan of action was decided and officials said that airport's fire brige team was called in, who n mand to remove bees by sprinkling water.

"Later, airport's fire brige team was called in for removing bees from aircraft. team sprinkled water for removing bees and succeeded finally. above exercise took around an hour," official ded.

Soon after bee fiasco, flight departed for Agartala.
