AIADMK leader says 'book wind' on Subhasri's death due to party banner

Days after 23-year-old techie Subhashree was killed in Tamil Nadu, an AIADMK leader has said that wind was responsible for her death and wind should be booked

Days after 23-year-old techie Subhashree was killed in Tamil Nadu, an All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader has said that wind was responsible for her death. Speaking in a television interview, AIADMK leader C Ponnaiyan said that instead of booking Jayagopal, the AIADMK leader who erected the illegal banner, wind should have been charged. Defending the action of Jayagopal, he said that he did not wish to hurt anyone. He then went on to say that it was the wind that led to the falling of the banner and the fatal accident. Ponnaiyan, a senior leader and founding member of the party, was speaking to a Tamil TV channel. "If a case had to be registered at all, it should be filed against the wind," he said.

Techie was killed by illegal banner

In a shocking incident, a 23-year old girl was killed in Tamil Nadu after being crushed by an illegal banner of the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). The girl named Subhashree was allegedly crushed by a water tanker in Chennai's Pallikarni after an illegal banner fell on her. The girl was reportedly riding her scooty when a loosely erected banner fell on her. As a result, the girl lost control of her scooty and she was crushed to death by a water tanker that came right from behind, as per reports.

AIADMK leader blames citizens 

When asked about the incident, Jayakumar, AIADMK government's minister said that it is the citizens'responsibility to ensure road safety. Without uttering a word on illegal banners that have also been banned by the Madras High Court in 2017. Jayakumar said: "The human is life is most valuable thing, it's very precious, we can save our lives when we wear helmet while travelling in a two-wheeler & likewise, seat belt in car can avoid accident and also deaths when you travel in the car. We tend to lose of life because of our carelessness in a few situations which can be avoided, we have seen such reports in media and newspapers. Hence we can save our valuable lives if we wear a helmet for two Wheelers and seat belts for car, it's our responsibility."
