In the first statement released by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's health condition, the hospital's Media and Protocol Division's Chairperson has stated that he is "haemodynamically stable" and presently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) "under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team of doctors".

As per the official statement, Jaitley was admitted at the hospital on Friday morning.

Sources confirmed to Republic Media Network that the former Union Minister was admitted at AIIMS' Cardio-Neuro-Centre.

In the evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited Jaitley at AIIMS hospital. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan had also visited the former Union Minister at the time of publishing.

BJP leaders RP Singh, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Ashwin Choubey, Vijay Goel also visited the top BJP Leader at the hospital.

Below is the full statement as released by AIIMS Hospital on the health condition of Jaitley:

Jaitley, who held the portfolios of Finance and Corporate Affairs for the entirety of the first Narendra Modi-led NDA government, had earlier opted out of the second Modi government that was sworn-in in May, citing health grounds. He had, however, said that he would assist the government in an informal capacity to the extent that he was able. He has continued to write on Facebook and Twitter on a number of issues significant to the country - continuing the trend of blogging that he had kicked off in 2018 when he had cogently presented arguments on various topics, ranging from the economy to politics.
