'Aim of the meeting was to check if NC leaders are free as govt claims': Farooq Abdullah

Farooq Abdullah called for a meeting of senior party leaders on Thu to check if NC leaders who've been locked in for 12 months could come out of their home.

National Conference Supremo and Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah h called for a meeting of senior party leers on Thursday.  purpose of meeting was to check "if our people who've been locked in for 12 months could come out of ir homes as government said y're t locked", Abdullah said.

"I hope it's t just one time," Abdullah said after Party meeting at his residence culminated.

NC Chief invited senior leers of party for a meeting at his residence to discuss matter of "illegal house detention" of party functionaries. When asked if all NC leers were free, Abdullah said that he will call four more leers to see if y are free or t.

", se are four that you have seen and I am going to meet ors to see if y are free or t, tomorrow I will call in four more," he said. "We were 16 of us who were locked in. We are going to call all se people to see if y are free. I hope it is t only for once that y are as free as you ( press), but I kw press is t free. I kw that very well. It is unfortunate," ded Abdullah.

 Ar prominent leer in Kashmir politics, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief and Former CM Mehbooba Mufti has been slapped with PSA at least till October and is under detention.

Speaking about Mufti, Abdullah said, "I am constantly in talks with her and we are also concerned about her too. I keep on talking to her and we all want her to be free too."

Speaking on current situation in Kashmir, NC Chief alleged, "People are in most miserable condition today. Businesses are zero, tourism is zero. re is suffering everywhere. On top of it, we also have got this virus which is also taking a heavy toll on people and we still have a situation where security is very tight."

Centre on Wednesday ordered an "immediate" withdrawal of about 10,000 paramilitary personnel from Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This is biggest de-induction of se forces after ditional troops were rushed to UT post abrogation of Article 370 of Constitution that gave erstwhile state a unique status.
