Amid Coronavirus scare, Telangana faces shortage of N-95 masks

Amid the coronavirus scare in Telangana, the state has been witnessing a sudden surge in demand and prices of masks and sanitizers used as a precaution

rise in Coronavirus cases in India has resulted in an increase in demand for N-95 masks in Telangana. Along with high demand and price surge, state is also witnessing a short of se masks. 

While interacting with a news ncy, pharmacist Mir Quddus Ali said, "re is a short of masks in market especially, N-95 masks which are best among all masks to prevent spre of coronavirus."

Talking about sudden rise in sales, pharmacist said, "earlier, on a regular day, I used to sell up to 300-500 masks but, after threat of coronavirus, re has been a manifold increase in sale. w I am selling around 10,000 masks per day."

Reacting to a sudden rise in price of masks, a local said, " government has allotted Rs 100 crore budget to fight coronavirus and in government hospitals here masks which were earlier priced Rs 5, is w available at Rs 20."

To spre awareness about coronavirus,  Telangana government has put up posters and visories for citizens, asking m to maintain distance from those who appear to be visibly sick and are coughing or sneezing. state government has also vised those with symptoms of flu to get treatment from government hospitals.

Earlier on Wednesday, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan dressed a press conference and stated that till w re are 28 confirmed cases of coronavirus in India and ded that universal screening of all international flights will begin to control spre of dely virus.

Meanwhile, over 3,000 people have been killed globally after being infected with virus. dely virus, that originated in China late last year, continues to spre around world and has infected more than 90,000 people. While most of cases are from Hubei province of China and city of Wuhan ( epicenter of outbreak), or countries including Iran, Italy, Japan, and Philippines have also reported deaths related to vel coronavirus.
