No tukde-tukde gang when I was there: Amid violence, EAM Jaishankar recalls own JNU days

After the violence in JNU campus, the EAM condemned the incident. He took to twitter and stated that it was completely against the tradition of the university

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar who is also a JNU alumnus, when asked about brutal violence at premier institution on Sunday said, "I can certainly tell you that when I studied in JNU, we did t see any 'tukde tukde' gang re."

After violence in Jawaharlal Nehru University campus, External Affairs Minister condemned incident. He took to twitter and stated that it was completely against trition and culture of university.

About JNU attack

On Sunday evening, a group of masked miscreants gared inside JNU campus. Armed with lathis and rods, masked goons attacked students and faculty members.

JNU Student union president Aishe Ghosh has also been severely injured. Visuals of her have surfaced in which she is seen bleeding profusely and saying, "I have been brutally attacked by goons wearing masks. I have been bleeding. I was brutally beaten up".

Delhi Police PRO MS Randhawa, on Monday, briefed media saying that Crime branch will be investigating incident. He stated that police received a call at 5 PM about a scuffle between students and y responded immediately. scuffle which was on JNU registration h been ongoing for past few days, he ded. Narrating sequence of events, he said that Delhi police which could be deployed only in min block could t enter area of scuffle which was mainly in hostels.

Moreover, he revealed that JNU ministration allowed m to enter campus after 7:30 PM after which police conducted a flag march, bringing  situation under control. He ded, " CCTV foot is being collected and Crime Branch will investigate heed by a DCP rank who has alrey found vital clues. 34 were injured and have been discharged from hospital. Delhi police have constituted a fact-finding committee under chairmanship of Joint CP (Western range) Shalini Singh."

Student bodies tre blames for attack

JNU students union whose chief was severely injured has alleged that masked goons were from rival ABVP faction. Whereas, ABVP has stated that around 25 of ir leers have also been attacked and ir presidential candidate Manish Jangid beaten up, ding that 11 of ir leers are missing and alleged that attack was orchestrated by students affiliated to left-wing students' organization SFI, AISA and DSF.
