PM Modi holds meeting with Amit Shah after return from US, Egypt; briefed on key issues
Union Home Minister Amit Shah met PM Narendra Modi on Monday to brief him on the Manipur issue as the situation continues to remain tense in the state.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday to brief him on a host of issues ahead of Cabinet meet on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Modi, who returned to country yesterday after a whirlwind trip to US and Egypt, also discussed situation in Manipur as state remains tense over continued violence between Meiti and Kuki communities. This came a day after HM Shah met Manipur Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, in Delhi.

On Saturday, Amit Shah chaired an all-party meeting to discuss resolution of violence in Manipur. During meeting, opposition parties expressed concern over failure of Biren Singh government to tackle situation. Many parties, including Congress, demanded PM Modi's intervention. To this, Amit Shah responded, saying, "PM Modi has been monitoring situation in violence-hit Manipur since day one and guiding us with full sensitivity to find a solution to problem."
'Violence controlled to great extent': Biren tells Amit Shah
tably, Manipur CM Biren Singh briefed Home Minister "about evolving situation on ground" on Sunday and said that re has been report of casualties since June 13 due to violence. He said that state and central governments have been able to control violence to a "great extent".

tably, this was Singh's second visit to national capital after Manipur witnessed unprecedented violence since May 3.
On Twitter, Singh, after meeting with Amit Shah, wrote, "I called on Union Home Minister Amit Shahji in New Delhi today and briefed him about evolving situation on ground in Manipur. Under Amit Shahji’s close supervision, state and central governments have been able to control violence to a great extent in past week. It may be ted that re has been report of casualties due to violence since June 13."
“Hon’ble Union HM has assured that central government will take all possible steps to bring rmalcy in Manipur. Furr, Amit Shahji advised us to strengn our work towards achieving everlasting peace and also sought cooperation of every stakeholder in Manipur to ensure that peace prevails in state," he added.
