Amit Shah highlights achievements of BJP-led Govt in Mizoram

Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah inaugurated rth East Handloom and Handicraft Exhibition 2019, organised by rth East Council in Aizawl on Saturday. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh was also present on occasion. During his speech at ceremony, Amit Shah highlighted achievements of BJP-led government in Mizoram and rast. Shah, also NEC chairman, assured Chief Minister Zoramthanga of working towards development of state.

dressing people, Amit Shah said, "I am very happy to visit India's beautiful state of Mizoram today. In Mizoram, most disturbed state in country could become most peaceful state, it can also become most developed state in country, he said. state h witnessed a two-dece-long insurgency since 1966, which ended with signing of a peace accord between Mizo National Front and Government of India in 1986."

Speaking about handloom he said, "I agree that handloom has provided employment to entire rast. Raw materials such as bamboo and or forest product have been me available. art and culture of handicrafts in region can help handloom industry boom and also play a greater hand in growth and production of handlooms."

state has great potential in bamboo cultivation and its residents can become self-sufficient through manufacture and sale of handicraft items. " massive wealth of bamboo in state can be utilized for development of handicraft items. Self-sufficiency could be achieved through manufacture and sale of bamboo products," he said.

Schemes by Modi government

From time Narendra Modi became Prime Minister entire rast is walking towards development under his guidance. In last five years in Mizoram, Dr. Jitendra Singh has also done a lot of development work. Shah said, "Hydropower plant of 60 megawatt and Bro gauge railways to be rey in Aizawl by 2021. Kalan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project will help increase business." 

"re are 51 new military schools that have been me. Aizawl state referral hospital worth 40 crores has been set up. Cricket stium worth 11 crores has been me. Similarly, a 2 crore worth greater away water scheme has been introduced. State sports acemy and horticulture colleges have been set up," he ded.

Speaking about schemes created by government, Shah said, "Ujwala scheme has provided LPG connection in Mizoram, 35000 families have been provided with sanitation facilities. Under Prhan Mantri Awaz yojna 23000 people got homes allowed. Over 6000 families have received electricity. Similarly, under Jandhan Yojna 3 lakh bank accounts have been opened in state. Lastly, over 1700km national highway will be created in Mizoram in coming years."

Allocation of funds

Shah also said that BJP-led government at Centre has doubled allocation of funds for developmental projects in Mizoram than what UPA government h done. "While UPA government h allocated over Rs. 19,900 crore to Mizoram through 13th Finance Commission, Modi government has alrey allocated Rs. 42,970 crore to state through 14th Finance Commission," Shah said.

Lastly, Union Home Minister also promised Chief Minister that he would do "everything possible to make beautiful state develop, prosper and become more beautiful".
