Amit Shah says border issues in N-E will be resolved soon days after Assam-Mizoram dispute

Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured that the inter-state boundary dispute between the Northeastern states such as Assan and Mizoram will be resolved soon.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that inter-state boundary dispute between rastern states will be resolved soon. Shah was speaking at inauguration of 69th meeting of rth East Council (NEC) in Shillong. 

He said, whole country is one, and refore, efforts should be me to find complete solutions to issues and challenges like border disputes, illegal smuggling across borders, etc.  minister’s comments come months after clashes escalated between border vills of Assam and Mizoram, highlighting prolonged boundary disputes in rastern region.

Shah said that Central government has changed its perspective of rast, so rast will also have to change its perception of Centre. He furr said rast was previously infamous for insurgency, but is w kwn for peace. state governments have achieved this by reaching out to small groups, he said.

Shah launches 'Ayushman CAPF scheme'

At ar event in Assam’s Guwahati, Shah launched 'Ayushman CAPF scheme' for nearly 28 lakh security personnel and extended benefit of Centre’s healthcare program to Central Armed Police Forces. 

Shah said that after assuming office as Home Minister, he h held interactive sessions with CAPF personnel and realized that some of major concerns for forces were - quality medical treatment for mselves and ir families, housing facilities, and long periods of duty away from home.

Through Ayushman CAPF scheme, around 28 lakh personnel of CAPF, Assam Rifles, and National Security Guard and ir families will be provided free access to medical treatment under ‘Ayushman Bharat-Prhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’.

A health card will also be given to all CAPF personnel and ir families. Every year health of CAPF jawans will be monitored. ir family members will also undergo tests every three years. Using this health card, beneficiaries can get all information related to ir health in hospital at any time.
