Business tycoon and popular netizens Anand Mahindra on Monday made a confession on Twitter. The Mahindra and Mahindra Chairman referred to PM Narendra Modi's comment made in Chennai. PM Modi said after he told a gathering about Tamil being an ancient language during his New York visit, the matter became a huge talking point overseas. Anand Mahindra wrote on Twitter saying that he was ashamed to confess that he did not know that Tamil was one of the oldest languages in the world. Anand Mahindra said in his tweet that he did not know that Tamil was one of the oldest languages despite spending his schooling days in Udhagamandalam (Ooty).

Anand Mahindra's embarrassing confession

In just two tweets, Anand Mahindra encapsulated the feeling of sheepishness which we often experience when reminded about our ignorance about our cultural wealth. Mahindra also managed to tickle his followers' funny bones saying that he did learn a few Tamil words, but they all were slurs which made Tamil speakers in his board blush. Read his tweets below.

PM Modi's comment on Tamil language

PM Modi while addressing students at the convocation ceremony in IIT Madras in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, spoke about how the world perceives the Tamil language. “During my trip to America, I witnessed that the world has a lot of expectations from India and the expectations are forever growing. We will ensure the welfare of the country and would do so at a fast pace,” also adding, “We will make India a great country that will eventually be useful to the world.”
