Ayodhya verdict: Anand Mahindra salutes SC for 'Extraordinary Courage'

Anand Mahindra admired the five-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court for their "extraordinary courage" and their "incredible application of mind".

After Supreme Court delivered its landmark verdict on sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute on Saturday, Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra mired five-judge Constitution bench of Supreme Court consisting of CJI Ranjan Gogoi, SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer for ir "extraordinary cour" and ir "incredible application of mind". Taking to Twitter, he wrote, "5 men. A decision that 1.3bn people were awaiting. What extraordinary cour it required to be on this bench & what incredible application of mind it must have taken to reach conclusion. I salute m for doing ir duty & upholding process of justice in our nation."

Hours before  much anticipated Ayodhya verdict, Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to express his opinion about verdict. Mahindra tweeted, "I will t await this verdict with apprehension. I will pray for a judgment that makes us an even stronger and more united country..."

Prouncing landmark judgment in Ayodhya dispute case, Supreme Court on Saturday, delivered a unanimous judgment in title suit of disputed area awarding it to Hindu parties for construction of a temple. It also directed Centre to come up with a scheme within three months to set up a trust which will hand over outer courtyard and inner courtyard of site for construction of a temple. Apart from this, SC stated that an alternate land of 5 acres is to be allotted to Muslims for liberty of constructing a mosque, eir by central govt or State govt, in a suitable and prominent place in Ayodhya. CJI Ranjan Gogoi, while delivering unanimous judgment, dismissed claims of Sunni Central Waqf Board and Nirmohi Akhara. He also termed that three-way division of disputed land by Allahab HC in its 2010 verdict is wrong.
