Anand Mahindra turns saviour for banana farmers; swaps company plates with banana leaves

Indian business tycoon Anand Mahindra shared that his proactive teams were prompt to act as they replaced plates with banana leaves in their canteens.

Business tycoon Anand Mahindra shared an inspiring anecdote through his Twitter handle on Thursday making his followers awestruck by his magnanimity. He shared that canteens at different Mahindra & Mahindra factories have started using banana leaves as plates to help struggling banana farmers sell ir produce during national lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic in India. Mahindra thanked his staff for promptly adopting idea suggested to him by Padma Ramnath, a retired journalist.

Anand Mahindra has also offered to help authorities fight vel coronavirus outbreak by offering to make ventilators at different manufacturing facilities of Mahindra Group. Keeping in mind scarcity of hospitals, he also suggested that Mahindra holiday resorts can be transformed into temporary health care facilities.  Chairman of M&M also promised to contribute 100 percent of his salary and urged or manufacturing giants to set aside contributions for those who are most affected in ir ecosystem.

Coronavirus outbreak

COVID-19 has claimed close to 90,000 lives across world and has infected nearly 15,03,000 people globally since it first broke out in December 2019. Italy is most affected country in world as death toll stands at 17,700 with almost 1.4 lakh people affected by deadly virus.

Meanwhile in India, coronavirus outbreak has been taking over at an alarming rate with total number of infections as 5218 and 169 lives lost. government of India has also imposed a nationwide 21-day lockdown to curb spread of deadly virus and is currently in process of extending it furr as number of cases has been increasing rampantly.
