Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of Mahindra Group, released an ad campaign on Tuesday, in an initiative to fight the war against all kinds of plastic. According to him, plastic is one of the most lethal weapons. As mentioned in the video, the low-density polythene container (plastic bag) has been clogging landfills and oceans. Mahindra is now focusing on waste management. The company has recycled, reused and composted over 140,000 tonnes of waste. Mahindra, taking it to Twitter, has posted the video of his ad and urged people to fight plastic.
Mahindra introduces plastic bottles in his office
Earlier on September 13, the Mahindra group, in a bid to reduce plastic usage in the country, decided to replace the use of 'plastic bottles' with refillable metal bottles. This initiative came after the Twitterati pointed out plastic bottles in a photo of a Mahindra board meeting.

Government's war against Single-use plastic
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently leading a campaign ‘Say No to Single-use Plastic’. He had urged people to observe the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi this year as a day to make India plastic-free. He had also issued a clarion call on his radio broadcast show 'Mann ki Baat' after previously speaking about it in his Independence Day speech. During his address at the 14th Conference of Parties (COP Summit) to United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) on September 9, PM Modi had stated that human empowerment is closely linked to the state of the environment. According to him, even if a number of frameworks are introduced, the implementation of any plan is possible with teamwork.
