Andhra CM: 'Provide medical services through bikes in remote areas'

On Friday, October 18, Andhra Presh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed officials to provide medical services in remote and tribal areas of state through bikes. During a review meeting of Medical and Health Department, Chief Minister asked officials to complete all development and revation work in community hospitals, area hospitals, and district hospitals by December 2020. He has also directed officials to establish a maternity centre in every district.
YSR Kanti Velegu program to be extended to college students
"He instructed officials to extend YSR Kanti Velugu program to college students and preliminary round should be completed within a month. Like Kanti Velugu, all health tests should be done to people starting from school students," an official release from Chief Minister's Office said. Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered officials to include Thalassemia, Haemophilia, Sickle cell anaemia patients under financial aid of Rs 10,000 that is being provided to kidney patients.

Government to provide financial assistance of Rs. 5,000 per month
" state will provide financial assistance of Rs. 5,000 per month or Rs. 225 every day from December 1 as a post-surgery allowance till date of recovery as recommended by medical doctor," release said. Reddy told officials to include four more diseases in Rs. 5,000 pension category from January 1. CM instructed officials to include dengue and seasonal diseases in services.

As a pilot project, from January 1, about 2,000 diseases will be ded to Aarogyasri services in West Godavari district and 1200 diseases in remaining districts, release said. He has also asked officials to prepare a plan for treatment of ro accident victims. " ro accident victims should get services in hospital inste of waiting for money. Prepare a plan so that some amount can be paid on behalf of government," he said.

Govt to d 7 lakh beneficiaries to YSR Pension Scheme
On Monday, October 14, Jagan Mohan Reddy-led Andhra Presh government anunced that 7 lakh more beneficiaries would be ded under YSR Pension scheme from January 2020. It also promised to make women self-help groups (Podupu Sangams) debt-free. Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy confirmed this at a review meeting on District Rural Development ncy Project Directors held at Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) office in Vijayawa. Furrmore, he stated that loans of Podupu Sangams would be waived off.
