Andhra Pradesh: CM meets experts to improve education in the state

An expert committee for the reformation in education met and explained its recommendations to the CM of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Secretariat

expert committee for reformation in education on Tuesday explained its recommendation to Chief Minister of Andhra Presh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at Secretariat in Amaravati. Chairman of Committee, Professor N. Balakrishnan h given a presentation about actions to be taken by government to strengn educational system. Till date, committee members have toured at field level for several times and have met six times. expert committee le by Balakrishnan stated that a large amount has to be spent on strengning government education system. committee furr identified several key issues and infrastructure in public schools are in poor condition and teaching practices are below par. y ded, re is a crucial need to improve teaching skills.

Total percent of students registering to government schools is low

total percent of students registering to government schools is only 49.28%, whereas students registration in private schools is at 43%. Despite this, re is transparency and  proper methods to monitor private education institutions. re is a significant need to improve private teacher training institutions. expert committee recommendations also stated that a huge amount should be invested for digital education and teachers should be trained for same. 

expert committee has furr set goals for next five years and stated that every child between s of 6 and 16 years should study in schools. Student Learning Outcome should be increased by 8% every year and a third party confirmation should be conducted. committee suggested that student drops out at high school level and furrmore, every student should complete till ir education at least till tenth gre. committee aims to bridge gap between urban and rural students in society and make sure that re are social and ecomic barriers.

Government schools should have infrastructure and digital facilities

y furr recommended that all government schools should have infrastructure and digital facilities and campaigns should be conducted to increase writing and reing skills. An assessment tracking should be done on each student to see that student from tribal areas drops out from schools, committee suggested. expert committee suggested that re should be vocational education from eighth gre and recommended that weight of school bags be reduced

committee ded all teachers should be trained as English medium is being implemented for 1st to 8th-gre students in every school from next year. re must be an assessment of expertise of teachers. Compulsory free education should be implemented until intermediate and all high schools should be upgred to intermediate colleges. It said that SSC and Intermediate Boards shall be merged under one commissioner. All schools shall be brought under SERT syllabus. A set of guidelines should be prepared for teachers that are working in unaided schools. re should be a council for manment of Gurukul schools and a corporation for digital education. Every month district collector should hold a review meeting, committee suggested.
