Andhra Pradesh DGP says 'attack on Jagan Mohan Reddy is for publicity sake'

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) head Jagan Mohan Reddy suffered arm injury on Thursday after he was attacked by a sharp knife-like object at the Vizag Airport.

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) head Jagan Mohan Reddy suffered arm injury on Thursday after he was attacked by a sharp knife-like object at Vizag Airport.  man behind attack was identified as Srinivas who is a staff with airport canteen. He was immediately dragged away by police and taken into custody. However, Andhra Pradesh DGP RP Thakur has contradicted statement and said: 

 "It was CISF who apprehended attacker and handed over to Andhra Pradesh Police". 

However,  video clearly shows that it was Andhra Pradesh police who suspect into custody. DGP RP Thakur also added that attack was for 'publicity sake'.

"Srinivas belongs to YSRCP and act is for publicity sake", he said.

Meanwhile, YRSCP leader YV Subba Reddy termed incident as a major security lapse while mentioning that accused in this case worked at a restaurant belonging to TDP leader.

"It is 100% security lapse, and government here are t providing any security to its opposition leader. Reason we cant kw unless we find who person was. But how come he entered airport, because airport is...even a nailcutter," he said while speaking excluisively to Republic TV.

However, ruling party, TDP, has rejected any claims of ir involvement in this crime, while dismissing comments made by YSRCP against m. Speaking on allegations against his party, Srinivas Kesineni said:

"That is totally baseless. investigation is going on. Once enquiry gets over, we will get to kw who person is and what actually happened. Police enquiry is going on. We cant come upto any kind of conclusion. YSRCP will as usual try to take a political mile on this. So once police enquiry is over, we'll get to kw facts."
