While 21 stalls have been reserved for the handlooms and handicrafts, 25 other stalls would feature food items of AP. Apart from this, the event will also showcase Kondapalli and Etikoppaka toys, leather items from Vijayawada, lace items from Narasapuram, jewellery from Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Ongole, wood carving items from Tirupati in Chittoor district and Gannavaram jute items. AP Formation Day marks the formation of AP on November 1, 1956, after the reorganisation of states on linguistic lines. This was achieved after enormous sacrifices by people such as Potti Sriramulu, who lost his life after sitting on a fast. However, Telangana has ducked the trend by celebrating June 2 as its Formation Day after it was carved out as a separate state in 2014.
