‘Andhra to have 3 capitals’ declares CM Jagan Mohan Reddy; Naidu terms it as 'Tughlaq act'

Andhra Presh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan on Tuesday me an anuncement in state assembly that state will have three capitals. According to anuncement, Amaravati will be legislative capital. Reddy said Kurol will be judicial capital of Andhra Presh while Visakhapatnam will be executive capital. concerned committee will submit its report by next week after which final decision will be taken.
Reddy's idea of three capitals
Andhra Presh government has t been keen on Amaravati. In a written reply in state legislative council, it was stated that re was proposal to shift capital from Amaravati. However, Reddy has w come up with idea of three capitals. Ever since YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) came to power in May, re were indications that government may shift capital out of Amaravati. After Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy took over as Chief Minister, all works in Amaravati were kept on hold, pending a probe into alleged irregularities by previous government in awarding contracts and in allotting prime lands to those close to n Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Naidu slams Jagan's anuncement
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu has termed Jagan's anuncement as ''Tughlaq act'. Reacting sharply to Reddy's anuncement me in State Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, former chief minister said move would make governance difficult and create a divide among people on regional lines.
"It is a Tughlaq act. Perhaps Tughlaq's rule was better," said Naidu, who alleged that his party MLAs were suspended from Assembly to make anuncement.

Naidu said Jagan Mohan Reddy destroyed Amaravati which was expected to become Rs 2 lakh crore asset for state. Amaravati was brainchild of Naidu, who h roped in Singapore government to make design for new state capital. ruling government recently formed a panel of five experts to look into issue of state capital after taking views of people of all regions into consideration. TDP chief criticized Jagan Mohan Reddy for making anuncement even before panel submitting its report.
